Accountant

Veridian Homes, an innovative company with an emphasis on smart growth and green built practices, has a great opportunity in its’ finance department for an Accountant to join our team!

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Reconciling job costs, pre & post closing

Preparing job cost and general ledger entries

Creating change orders and reviewing change order settlement statements

Report writing

Escrow and down payment account management

The successful candidate will have:

A degree in accounting

Up to 3 years of accounting-related experience

Be proficient in Excel

A strong attention to detail, great teamwork skills and a positive attitude

Timberline and/or Great Plains experience a plus!

Marketing Intern

Veridian Homes, LLC, Wisconsin’s largest home builder, has an exciting opportunity for a marketing/communications student!

If you are detail-oriented, professional, outgoing and are passionate about your future career in marketing/advertising, this will be the perfect opportunity for you. Past interns have gone on to professional careers at Procter & Gamble, Target, Pulte Homes and Veridian Homes, among others. We are looking for a team player to join our marketing department and assist with the following:

Event planning and promotion

Coordinate website updates, including copywriting

Assist with print coordination and quality assurance

Research and competitive analysis

Assist in all duties in relation to generating qualified leads and supporting our sales team

Maintain archives of all ad proofs, press clippings and media kits

Other administrative duties as required

The candidate must be proficient in MS Word & Excel, previous website experience is a plus. This unpaid position is 10-20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters, with the potential for 40 hours per week during the summer/winter break. Students applying for this opportunity must be a sophomore or junior with a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0, preferably majoring in marketing, communications or journalism. The ability to provide your own transportation to work is a must.

Other desired qualities include strong organizational and writing skills, the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, and a willingness to work in a team-oriented environment.

This is a fast-paced position and each day is different. You’ll leave here with a better understanding of the home building industry and you’ll know the in’s and out’s of advertising, public relations and marketing. Plus, you’ll learn how to work in a business environment.
